US Virgin Islands – Great Exploration Tours is launching the Made-in-the-US Virgin Islands Sample Box as well as a virtual tourism offering that aims to promote economic recovery for local businesses as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

Shelley Williams, President of Great Exploration Tours, says since the Virgin Island’s economy is primarily dependent upon tourism, she and other small business owners are looking for alternative ways to sustain their businesses through the global COVID-19 pandemic. Williams believes it makes good sense to evolve towards virtual tourism and online retailing.

The Made-in-the-US Virgin Islands Sample Boxes, available for online ordering is available at our Shopify store, and features an array of products. “These are unique items that are culturally appropriate,” she says, “They contain beautiful handmade goods and products made by local artisans, craftsman, and creatives.”

“More than two million tourists come to the Virgin Islands each year,” Williams says, “Because people aren’t able to travel, this offers the opportunity to visit virtually and continue to support our region economically and in a socially conscious manner. In addition, we hope customers find extra satisfaction knowing that they are also providing relief to local small businesses, women and minority owned companies that have been severely impacted by the loss of tourism, giving them an alternative way to generate income.”

Williams says the Made-in-the-US Virgin Islands Sample Boxes are win-win for consumers and business owners, in that would-be travelers still get to enjoy a virtual tour at (, while having some physical element in their hand so they can experience the local culture and products. The Made-in-the-US Virgin Islands Sample Boxes are a unique, innovative, way to promote locally-made products, which will contribute to the growth of local Virgin Islands businesses, as well as provide a vehicle for local families to advance from low-wage jobs into the middle class. Williams believe people will keep these items as an enduring reminder of the Made-in-the-US Virgin Islands brand.

<![CDATA[5 Best Things to do while visiting the US Virgin Islands]]>Thu, 01 Oct 2020 12:30:17 GMThttp://greatexplorationtours.com/blog-vibes/5-best-things-to-do-while-visiting-the-us-virgin-islandsAre you planning a trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands? The Caribbean islands are known to be beautiful and lush, with great beaches, each of the Virgin Island offers more to do then just sunbathing. My team and I have ranked some of the top things we enjoy doing while on island, there is so much to explore on island, but we have narrowed it down, because of limit days available, we believe you may enjoy experiencing these excursions while visiting.;

Here is our list of the top five;
 1. Enjoy a scenic island tour of St. John and Trunk Bay from St. Thomas. Great Exploration Tours offers full day excursion from St. Thomas to St. John.
 2. Visit Mountain Top on St. Thomas with Great Exploration Tours - to have a stunning view of the island, do duty-free shopping, and explore Magens Bay.
 3. Visit VI National Park that covers two-thirds of St. John Island and is home to many beaches. You can hike its trails and enjoy snorkeling or camping on its beaches.
 4. Explore the beauty of Buck Island Reef on St. Croix. It’s a great spot for snorkeling and scuba diving. Buck Island Reef National Monument is a must for every visitor, whether you snorkel the underwater trail or just enjoy the cruise.
 5. Explore the Rain Forest on St. Croix. The western region of the island comprises a thick, 15-acre forest, called the "Rain Forest" (though it's not theoretically a rainforest). The area is dense with mahogany trees, kapok (silk-cotton) trees, turpentine (red-birch) trees, samaan (rain) trees, and all types of ferns and vines.
 6. Do ecotour around the Islands to explore marine life and the exotic natural beauty of the islands.
